The Raccoon

There is a very intelligent and friendly creature who usually lives near swamps and creeks. He has a funny face with a sort of mask over it. Maybe that is his disguise, for I am told that he can be quite a bandit! Even so, the raccoon is playful and loves to eat. Raccoons eat frogs, shrimp, and other shellfish. They also like corn, which gets them into  trouble with man. They also eat eggs, fruit, meat, and nuts. Raccoons are very clean about their food. When water is near, they wash their food before eating.

Do you watch what you take in to make sure it is clean? Now, I am not talking about food only. There are other things we take into our lives—things we see, things we hear, things we read. There is a lot of dirt and filth, wrong thinking and bad talk in this world. Those who are wise are careful—careful about what they watch on TV, in videos, online, or read in books, careful about what kinds of stories and jokes they listen to and tell, careful about what things they think. The Bible says, [Philippians 4:8] “whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

It is good to wash what you eat. It is very important to watch what you take into your life.
